An ex-soldier and his wife who conned their insurer out of £70,000 after claiming a bicycle accident left their young son blind in one eye were jailed for 12 months for fraud at Salisbury Crown Court on Friday.
Jeremy Jones, an ex-British Army Lance Corporal, and his now estranged wife, Sally Anne Jones, both 38, were found guilty of orchestrating the scam following an investigation by the City of London Police's Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED).
The couple made a claim to AIG
