A bus inspector and a Mercedes driver have been sentenced to jail after conspiring to defraud QBE.

A bus inspector and a Mercedes driver have been sentenced for a £500k insurance scam.

The two men orchestrated a crash between the two vehicles in Manchester in an attempt to claim compensation from insurers.

Appearing at Manchester Crown Court yesterday, bus inspector Asan Akram was sentenced to 16 months in jail, while accomplice Tariq Iqbal was sentenced to prison for 12 months, suspended for two years and ordered to undertake 250 hours of unpaid work.
