Hiscox UK's retail business enjoys 10.5% GWP growth

Provider sees UK retail GWP come in at £312.8m for the first nine months of 2013.

Hiscox UK's retail business enjoyed a 10.5% growth in gross written premiums (GWP) to £312.8m for the first nine months of the year, up on the £283m posted for the same period in 2012.

The insurer attributed this growth to "excellent retention of existing business in all areas, pricing improvements and new schemes business".

It stated: "Distinctive marketing and improvements made to the online small business journey, have resulted in good growth for the direct-to-consumer business."
