AJ Gallagher has set up three new divisions within Gallagher Heath Insurance Services (GHIS) to better reflect its direct, intermediary and partnerships distribution channels, sister title Postonline has revealed.

Three managing directors have been appointed to lead the new divisions: Andrew Wallin for direct, Simon Read for intermediary and Alan Sanderson for partnerships.

According to the article, the GHIS division, led by Des O'Connor, is targeting one million customers and $100m (£65.7m) in revenue.

The move came a fortnight after the acquisition of Barbon which itself came hard on the heels of the announcement that Janice Deakin was set to join as UK commercial director in August.
