Professionalism: More talk about chartered status needed

There should be more communication about the benefits of chartered status across the insurance industry, according to Ageas' distribution and development director, Chris Dobson.

Mr Dobson stated that it was important for insurers to become chartered: “In the same way that we would look at brokers who are themselves chartered, it serves as sending a message of professionalism to the market.”

Yet he was doubtful as to whether insurers were well placed to promote chartered status directly to customers. However, as for brokers, he advised: “For brokers who have achieved chartered status then the broker should be using every opportunity they possibly can to highlight this
