Open GI and 'forgotten' Powerplace in SME broker launch

Open GI group CEO Chris Guillaume has stated that PowerPlace was "forgotten about" because it was not a priority for Towergate.

The comments were made at press conference announcing plans for Open GI and PowerPlace's new broker-based SME proposition.

Open GI purchased PowerPlace from Towergate in February 2013.

"PowerPlace has always been here, it's just not been joined up. [It] was almost forgotten because it was regarded as a non-core asset by Towergate," said Mr Guillaume.

Powerplace is currently used by 40% of brokers, supporting 1,200 of them, and controlling around £100m gross written premium annually across 15 SME
