Unite slams Aviva for its "silent jobs cull"
Britain's biggest trade union has slammed Aviva for its "silent jobs cull" following the insurer's announcement that 800 jobs could be at risk.
Unite has ordered Aviva to "come clean" over the extent of the prospective job cuts and criticised its restructuring plan ‘Project Simplify' for snowballing into a "major cuts programme".
The insurance giant had previously announced plans to remove layers of management as part of a restructuring drive.
Today, the insurer said that 800 roles could now be at risk.
