Insurers blasted for "continuing delays" over flooding deal
Insurers and the government have been slammed for their failure to reach an agreement over affordable cover for households at risk from flooding.
The Local Government Association (LGA) hit out at the "continuing delays" with a ‘safety-net' arrangement between the government and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) due to expire next June.
The body, which represents more than 350 councils in England and Wales, warned that the delay will see more households denied cover.
It fears that some could even be exposed to the risk of losing their homes in the event of severe flooding.
