AMII vents disappointment at Bupa PMI withdrawal

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has vented its disappointment that Bupa is pulling back from the broker channel for its private medical insurance (PMI) business.

Bupa has confirmed it will no longer offer its ClientChoice, Bupa Care, Local Care, Local Hospital Care and Essential Care products as of 31 August.

AMII has expressed fears this move will "undoubtedly" have an effect on the majority of AMII members and their clients.

Debbie Kleiner-Gaines, AMII treasurer, told Insurance Age magazine:
