Towergate Financial chief executive steps down

Ian Darby has stepped down as chief executive of Towergate Financial and will be replaced by current chief operating officer Dan Saulter.

Mr Darby, who has left to pursue other interests, has been appointed non-executive chairman of mortgage broker John Charcol, which Towergate Financial acquired in February 2010.

According to Citywire, Mr Darby had always planned to leave Towergate once he had returned the business to profitability.
