Biba questions duplication in OFT inquiry
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has welcomed the announcement of an Office of Fair Trading (OFT) inquiry, particularly regarding comparison sites, but added it did risk going over old ground.
Graeme Trudgill, head of corporate affairs at Biba stressed that he had yet to look at all the OFT's questions in full but said he believed the inquiry followed on the work of the Transport Select Committee and that undertaken by the Financial Services Authority's on comparison sites.
"We welcome the comparison site angle," he said. "We sent a detailed report back to the FSA and will be very interested to see how that develops."
