Lloyd's hopes to boost market share by 'getting out to regions'

Lloyd's new regional manager of UK and Ireland, Keith Stern, has revealed plans to target regional brokers in a bid to boost market share.

Mr Stern said that Lloyd's current market share stood at 2-3% in personal lines and 7% in commercial, admitting that although the UK was Lloyd's second largest market, its share was still relatively small.

"The simplest way of measuring my contribution, after a reasonable period of time,†is to see†if†those percentages have increased," he added.

"I am not a practitioner, my job is to act as a facilitator and create opportunities for regional brokers to work with Lloyd's brokers and underwriters
