Biba urges Amii to join forces to form a single 'louder' voice

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (Amii) has rebuffed advances from the British Insurance Brokers Association (Biba) to merge the two organisations.

"Amii needs to be aware that a single voice is desired and to achieve the critical mass necessary it needs to join Biba properly," said head of technical services at Biba, Peter Staddon.

"No disrespect to the organisation but it does represent a small number of brokers and doesn't have a very loud voice. Biba can shout louder and joining us does not mean Amii will lose its own voice," he said.

However, Michael Payne, general secretary of Amii, said, while he respected the way Biba had lobbied
