Axa urges customers to check policies as statistics reveal that damage claims soar on bonfire night

Halloween and bonfire night is the worst week of the year for malicious damage claims with 5 November topping the rankings for the whole year, according to Axa.


The company's statistics reveal that the seven days from 30 October to 5 November is the worst week of the year for malicious damage claims on home insurance policies.


The incidence of these claims is 350% greater on 5 November than on an average day and on 31 October the number of claims is 270% higher.


Axa statistics have also revealed
