The Motor Insurers' Bureau has revealed that as many as 250,000 young people are driving without insurance

One in five young people drive without insurance, according to new figures released today by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).

The research revealed that as many as 250,000 people between the ages of 17 and 20 are driving without insurance and that this group is four times over-represented in claims to the MIB.

It also showed that one in ten young drivers were not aware that motor insurance is a legal requirement.
