Vibrancy, competitiveness and confidence. These three words come up repeatedly when discussing the Manchester market, one that has long been hailed as the second largest and most influential after London. It is difficult to quantify this though - what is it based on? Is it the number of insurers set up in the city or the amount of gross written premium (GWP) handled there? The size and scope of the brokers that have emerged in Manchester and the North-west? Or is it all just talk and bluster?
