Budget offshores to South Africa
Broking group Budget plans to open a new contact centre in South Africa. It will be located at Knowledge Park in Century City, Cape Town and is scheduled to open in June 2004.
The company said the move to South Africa will see additional jobs created, both abroad and in the UK, and is part of the company's ambitious expansion plans to double its customer base from 800 000 to 1.6m by 2006. Budget added the South African move will cover anti-social working hours in the UK and reflects the difficulties faced by employers recruiting in the UK, with attrition in the contact centre industry much higher than abroad.Group chief executive Peter Winslow said: "We are
