Unum Provident has acquired the group income protection business and renewal rights to the group life and group critical illness business of Swiss Life (UK) for an undisclosed sum. In July, Swiss Life said it planned to close Swiss Life (UK) business to new individual business. The acquisition includes 1,800 group income protection policies covering 280,000 people and renewal rights to approximately 6,800 group life and group critical illness policies covering 1.3m lives.
