Aviva consolidates

Aviva planned to bring together its general insurance and life businesses together under one group board director, for the first time since the merger of Norwich Union and CGU in 2000. Patrick Snowball, currently group chief executive, general insurance, will become the group executive director, Aviva UK.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
