IGI in underwriting manager hire

IGI Group has appointed Mark Ellinor as technical underwriting manager, to be based in its Nottingham head office.

Mr Elinor will predominantly assist in the development of IGI’s property-based classes of business. Mark has spent his career with Guardian, where he started in 1993, and remained following the Axa takeover in 1999. He started out as a commercial underwriter, later becoming development underwriter before being tasked with technical referrals and was subsequently appointed as senior commercial underwriter.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
