Insurer Hiscox has revealed a rather unusual claim. A thief broke into a customer's house and made off with a stuffed crocodile. Adding insult to injury, the robber used the owner's bicycle as the getaway vehicle, a sight sure to cause a few motor claims! The claim for the crocodile was paid in full. Overheard has learnt the crocodile was never recovered. The policyholder made a claim for losses of £2000, which Hiscox paid in full. Hiscox says this is one of a number of claims involving animals, including pigeons, cows, squirrels and Shetland ponies.

In cricket, West Indian batting supremo Sir Viv Richards told roving reporter Andrew Tjaardstra earlier this month: "The best way to play Shane Warne is to attack." The living legend was speaking at the Brit Oval's Bunburys charity game organised by Brit Insurance. Richards also revealed he would love to have played the blonde-haired Aussie wrist-spinner in a test match. Affable organiser Phil Wolski, head of marketing at Brit Insurance, declared the event a success and is looking forward to the conclusion of the Ashes at Brit's 'home' ground.
