There was much post-race day revelry following the first Insurance Race Day at Kempton Park on a sunny 22 April. Mike Lawton of RSA had to leave early in order to watch the Liverpool versus Chelsea Champions' league semi-final at Anfield; it was almost a perfect day for Mike until everything went a little awry in the ninety-fourth minute courtesy of John Arne Riise's headed own goal. Cue the celebrations at the Phoenix in Sunbury, where Paul Samways of Kerry London had been crying into his beer at his local until Riise's unfortunate blunder. The second leg will, of course, be played during the British Insurance Brokers' Association conference, so perhaps Paul and Mike can watch it together.

PB looks forward to seeing everyone at the BIBA conference - do not miss Incisive Media's stand. Should we not see you at the conference then no doubt we will see you in one of Glasgow's famous drinking establishments.

Don't forget to look out for the winner of our unofficial 'Party of the Conference' in next month's Overheard, though naturally we will try our best to heed the old adage 'what goes on at the conference, stays at the conference.'

Finally, PB is sad to announce the departure of our hard-working reporter, Charlie Thomas, who is leaving us after a whirlwind year at the magazine. We wish you all the best for the future.
