A recent invitation to experience Cuban jazz at the legendary and recently refurbished Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London's Soho with NIG was an offer that was far too good for Overheard to refuse. However, the promise of a sophisticated and debonair evening of exotic music in a fashionable location was seemingly thwarted after guests arrived at the club to be greeted by a sign informing them that the band that was due to play had been deported by Immigration Services. Thankfully, the club's own house band more than redeemed the situation, as did the delicious Cuban cocktails that flowed copiously until the early hours of the morning.

Professional Broking would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to Stephen Wall of Bollington, who recently got married and, according to Overheard's sources, finally got round to the happy day after being with the same woman for 20 years. Our sources were also pleased to report that matrimony already seems to be changing him for the better, after Ball recently indicated his desire to branch out from his trademark black - and occasionally grey - jumpers. Being an incredibly cautious fellow, the new look is unlikely to be too radical but, Overheard understands, it may even stretch to wearing jumpers with elbow patches.

Chris Traill, account director at Percayso Inform, is happy the market is leaning harder into data-driven segmentation rather than just chasing the cheapest headline rate; but adds even with Consumer Duty, there are still examples of poor communication and product understanding.
