The European Union has published an interim report into its inquiry into the business insurance sector. The 150 page report follows a Competition Commission review that highlighted concerns over contingent and profit commissions

The commission found that these practices are widespread and that transparency could improve. The commission also singled out UK brokers, which it said: "in general (are) the least inclined to provide information to their clients."

According to David Strang, competition
