A review conducted by QC Lord Davidson for Chancellor Gordon Brown has said the Financial Services Authority should make some radical changes in the way it implements the Insurance Mediation Directive. The review calls for the removal of the requirement for insurers to check that each intermediary in the supply chain is authorised. There are also calls for a cut down in the amount of data required by the Retail Mediation Activities Return and a reduction and simplification of the client money
