Leeds-based retail insurance specialist CQ Group has acquired Fielding Mann Insurance Brokers' book of business and many of its staff.The company will now become CQ Commercial and be based at CQ's Leeds headquarters in Wira Business Park. Its network of offices includes Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Birmingham. The CQ Group will now be divided into: ChoiceQuote Insurance (retail), CQ Financial Services and CQ Commercial.
Niche market schemes formerly handled by Fielding Mann Business Solutions will be operated under CQ Business Solutions. These schemes provide cover for national lottery contingency, schools supply teachers, restaurants and fast food outlets and dry cleaners.
Phil Catterall, chairman of CQ Group, said: "This acquisition is a huge step forward for the strategic direction of the CQ Group. We are now able to offer commercial insurance expertise to Yorkshire companies, together with a range of financial services through our newly-formed division CQ Financial Services."
