Professional indemnity is now compulsory for all architects. As the competition hots up, insurers are enhancing their PI policies with extra features says Steve Banner.
A premium income bonanza might have been expected after theArchitects Registration Board's (ARB) decision, as a statutory regulatory
body, to insist on compulsory professional indemnity (PI) with civil
liability wording for all architects, from 1 April this year.
Unfortunately, it has not materialised to any great extent.
"There hasn't been a big influx of business," says Mike Dickson, marketing
