MGAs increasingly important in placing niche fleet, according to broker survey

Waste, hazardous and recycling fleets are the hardest commercial motor segment to place due to limited market capacity, according to 71% of brokers surveyed by Direct Commercial.

Based on polling of brokers across the wider commercial motor insurance market, DCL claimed the findings suggested niche fleet sectors continue to experience pressure around insurer appetite and placement capacity.

However it noted specialist managing general agents are increasingly helping brokers secure viable cover following mainstream markets becoming more cautious.
