George Nixon was on fine form at the British Insurance Brokers
Association night of 'craic' on Friday 27 May. He whetted everyone's
appetite with reminiscences by telling us about the last meal he had had
in Belfast.


The meal was good, but did not get off to a good start, he said, when he
noticed his waitress had her thumb in his soup. Mr Nixon complained to
her, only to be told: "I have arthritis and it helps to keep the joint in
hot soup."
