Redundancy threat at L&G's Hove office

Insurer confirms consultation process with learning and development team.

Legal & General has confirmed that it set to make redundancies at its Hove offices.

A spokesperson commented: "We have entered into consultation with the learning and development team in Hove, which could result in a small number of redundancies."

It is believed that the redundancies are likely to affect fewer than ten members of staff.

Recently Legal & General's Mark Holweger, managing director for intermediated business, told Insurance Age that the business had some new deals in the pipeline

Aviva to open US commercial lines branch in New York

Aviva is setting up an onshore surplus lines business in the US, based in New York City, with a target of starting to trade in the second quarter of this year in a move it claimed will strengthen its proposition for brokers and clients.
