Biba health group gets ex Amii chairman on board as it tackles IPT

The former chairman of the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (Amii) Mike Izzard has joined the Healthcare Focus Group of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) along with Wayne Pointin, from Jelf Employee Benefits.

The appointments followed the recent hire of John Miller from Towergate who joined to represent consolidators on the committee.

The expansion of the group comes after Peter Staddon, Biba's head of technical services, urged Amii to join forces to form a single 'louder' voice

The committee decided earlier this year to broaden its remit from private medical insurance (PMI) to wider healthcare issues including income protection, critical illness and group life insurance.
