Retailers call for extension in trade credit top-up scheme

BRC survey reveals a majority of respondents feel that government support has yet to make an impact on profits

A significant number of both large and small and medium-sized (SME) retailers have reported that the reduction or withdrawal of trade credit insurance has had a negative impact on their businesses.

The results, which are part of the British Retail Consortium's (BRC's) latest Quarterly Credit Conditions Monitor, revealed that 38% of large retailers and 28% of SMEs had been detrimentally affected by this move..

The BRC said the vast majority of respondents felt trade credit insurers did not assess
