Four staff members have left insurE-com and six new people have joined in a shake-up of the company's team.

Ian Carter, group communications manager, and Allan Large, group marketing manager, have both left the company, along with software developer Ron Hughs and business systems manager Paul Wisham.

Carter was the first staff member employed by insurE-com on its start-up in 2000. Wisham joined the company six months later and was instrumental in setting up its insurer relationships.

Paul Scanlan, who has taken over some of the marketing for insurE-com said: "The company is entering a new phase, coming out of software development and moving into the sales and distribution of the product.

"Unfortunately, this meant that some of the existing roles became redundant," he continued. "We have taken on six new members of staff, including three in-house sales support staff."

Ralph Ehler, founder and chief executive officer of insurE-com left the company in October 2002. His departure lead to a management shake-up, which saw Jim McGuiness, previously a non-executive director, take over as CEO, Chris Newman become chief operating officer and Dan Francis director of business development.

McGuiness will now have four direct reports covering four functions.

Chris Newman will be responsible for sales, marketing and support operations, Dan Francis for business development, John Treacy for finance and administration and Tony Vince will take over as chief information officer.

Dr Sam Kingston, previously senior vice-president of Oracle Consulting, has joined as non-executive director.
