As the England cricket team struggles to hold onto the Ashes in Australia, Brit Insurance has struck a deal to become the official insurance partner of English test match grounds in a four-year sponsorship deal. The package gives Brit the right to perimeter branding and tri-vision advertising at test matches and one-day internationals until the end of the 2010 domestic season. The test match grounds included within the deal are Headingley, Edgbaston, Old Trafford, Trent Bridge and Chester-le-Street. Brit already has a sponsorship with the Oval until 1010. We have a feeling Brit's brokers might be seeing the benefit in the near future!
Despite what Paul Meehan may say, working in London has its perks - Conran restaurants, for example. Well OK so they're everywhere but the point is recently the Professional Broking team temporarily abandoned our diligent work to have lunch with a chap who'd had the misfortune to work for two firms noted for being among the highest profile collapses in recent history - namely the Independent and 24/7 Broking. Despite this, our lunch guest has escaped without being too jaded but with one qualifier: "Michael Bright cost me a lot of money but if I saw him in a pub I'd buy him a drink. Julie Rodillosso on the other hand didn't cost me that much but if I saw her in a pub I would not buy her a drink!"
The Christmas party season has started with a bang with FWD's Mockney Knees-up! at the wonderfully named Dirty Dicks complete with Chas and Dave impersonators. Thank you to everybody at FWD for a great time!
Paul Matthews has become uncharacteristically press shy since PB uncovered his broker Footman James was being touted around the market by owner Alchemy. Paul, we wish you every success with the outcome of the deal and hope to speak to you again soon!
