Blank Bankart has continued its Midlands expansion by acquiring Jordan Emmett & Partners.
Jordan Emmett will be rebranded Bland Bankart on 1 January 2002, and all staff taken on by Bland Bankart, including former managing director Brian Jordan. Bland Bankart's existing Birmingham office will close, will all staff moving into Jordan Emmett's Hagley Road office. Bland Bankart opened its Victoria Square office last year, marking its first move into the Midlands. The broker is now the largest independent retail broker in the Midlands.
Bev Cook, group marketing manager, said: "The Victoria Square office is rented, and our objective was always to buy another broker and move into their offices. We plan to double in size over the next five years through a combination of acquisition and organic growth."
Richard Jinks, a director of Bland Bankart who will be joining the Birmingham management team, said: "Whilst we shall continue to consider other acquisitions, the main thrust for our business in 2002 will be focused on winning new business. Birmingham has a wealth of quality businesses and faced with a hardening market may be looking to review their current insurance arrangements."
Mr Jordan, said: "I have been considering the future for some time and accepted the Bland Bankart proposal because I have some very loyal clients. I wanted to ensure they were provided with continuity of service and also assure the future for all employees."
