Brokers are keeping a close eye on Royal & SunAlliance, as the
embattled insurer prepares to release its third-quarter results on 7
November.


RSA says it will use the opportunity to reveal how it will raise £1bn -
the sum needed to repay loans due next year. Standard & Poor's has put the
insurer on a negative outlook and told RSA it will have to come up with a
robust capital-raising plan if it is to escape a down grading.


The insurer is currently rated A-.
