Experian is now well under way with the testing of its central
mainframe system - The Insurance On-line Network (ION) - which could
significantly speed up and enhance trading via Polaris.


Six leading insurers have supplied Experian with scheme products to test
on the new system and the first stage of testing is due to be completed
within the next few months. An undisclosed number of insurers are also
evaluating the central system with a selection of personal lines
products.


The ION system involves
