In the first quarter of 2006 Brit Insurance increased its gross written premium in the UK 7.5% from £78.4m to £84.3m. Its property premiums rose £2.6m, while its employer's liability and public liability in UK casualty rose by £8m.
Meanwhile, its motor book dipped by £3m to £20m. Overall, Brit Insurance revealed GWP in the first quarter of 2006 was £373.9m over £366.1m for the previous year.
In a statement, Brit said premium rates and terms and conditions remain healthy, although the UK market
