Approximately 400 jobs at Zurich Financial Services will be affected
by the insurer's decision to close four regional offices and to pull out
of motor trade business. It is not yet known how many redundancies will
result from the restructuring.


Zurich's personal insurance offices in Liverpool and Reading are to close
by the end of the first quarter of 2001, with the business being
transferred to Cardiff and Portsmouth. The offices affected have 150 and
110 staff respectively.
