The insurance industry is still fighting a losing battle with publicperception after a new study revealed that nearly half the UK's populationwould consider making a fraudulent insurance claim.

The ABI's 'Attitudes Towards Honesty' Index discovered that 47% of peopleit spoke to would not rule out deceiving their insurers over the nature orextent of a loss.

The news comes as the industry continues to battle with the financialservices sector's negative image, fuelled by past mis-selling scandals
