Steve Broughton, an ex UK board director of Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance UK (RSA), has joined the Fortis senior team as a non-executive director to help them develop the affinity side of the business.

"Fortis are very strong in the broker market and they have also expanded into the affinity sector, but they would like to be stronger in the latter," said Mr Broughton. "I have spent a lot of time in that market and am able to introduce Fortis to the right people, as they are not as well known
