Products: Kiln heads for new pastures with appointment of equine underwriter
Kiln has appointed a new equine underwriter in preparation for developing products in that area for the first time.
Georgina Smart, who spent 12 years working in the Lloyd’s market, will focus on specialist risks for sports and leisure horses.
She will underwrite a broad range of global equestrian and bloodstock risks for the insurer, including mortality, infertility, transit, vets’ fees, loss of use, theft, third party liability and saddlery and tack.
Richard Lewis, director of underwriting at Kiln, said the appointment would be a significant asset as the firm pursues its “strategic priorities” of growing
