The public fallout between Zurich and Folgate has bought into the limelight the issue of who owns the customer. The unseemly 'smash and grab' raid on Folgate's customers by Zurich and some prominent brokers seems to be based totally on the premise that Zurich, the insurer, owns the client, rather than Folgate, the broker.
