FCA fines and bans broker over client money failings
Chief executive found not to have understood the rules and regulations.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined Vroni Mavis O'Brien £20,000 and banned her from performing any significant influence functions in relation to any regulated activity carried on by an authorised person.
Ms O'Brien, of Northanger Close in Hampshire, was appointed chief executive of Joint Aviation in March 2007.
She was responsible for running the accounts and dealing with client money.
On 23 February 2012, the broker's accountants told the firm that it had a client money shortfall
