The government's Investigatory Powers Bill includes plans that could allow public bodies, including the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), to access internet connection records.
The latest incarnation of what is popularly termed The Snoopers' Charter was recently introduced to the House of Commons by Home Secretary Theresa May.
