Volvo fires warning shot to insurance
Car manufacturer reveals it will accept liability for driverless cars.
Håkan Samuelsson, president and chief executive of Volvo Cars, has revealed that the car manufacturer will accept liability for its driverless cars when they are in autonomous mode.
In a speech to a seminar on driverless cars at Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC Samuelsson urged regulators to work closely with car makers to solve controversial outstanding issues such as questions over legal liability in the event that a self-driving car is involved in a crash or hacked by a criminal third party
