Market expert investigates the changes that Google Compare is already delivering to consumer mind sets and the possible outcomes for insurance in the US.

Ellen Carney of Forrester Research has predicted that there will be a 25% reduction in the number of insurance agencies in the US by 2020.

In a market of 40,000 agencies she said that within five years one quarter will be gone: "The business of insurance is changing thanks to digital," she told the audience at the Applied Net 2015 conference in Las Vegas.
