Biba signals support for whiplash report

Broker trade body endorses call for government to publish proposals on medical panels and timescales.

The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) has said it is "pleased" with the Transport Committee's report to tackle fraudulent and exaggerated motor insurance claims.

The report, published today, produced a string of recommendations including that the government ban insurers from settling whiplash claims before the claimant has undergone a medical examination.
