AIG extends HNW policy wording

Water coming out of a pipe

Provider confirms policy will now offer HNW clients up to £2,000 water leak detector payment.

AIG UK has launched an improved high net worth policy with extended policy wording, including the introduction of a payment of up to £2,000 to cover the purchase and installation of a water leak detector.

The provider stated that escape of water issues cost the industry "a small fortune every year".

It cited figures from the Association of British Insurers showing that in 2010 one in five claims was due to burst pipes and calculated that claims cost insurers more than £2m every day.
