LV's group profits jump 19%

LV has reported a group operating profit of £126.2m for last year, up 19% on the £105.8m reported in 2011.

As a result of this increase, the group confirmed a mutual bonus fund of £20.9m, to be added to eligible with-profit members' policies on payout.

As previously announced, the general insurance arm reported a 53% jump in profit from £76.4m in 2011 to £117.1m in 2012, although its combined operating ratio was impacted by adverse weather, deteriorating from 97.7% to 99.7% in the same period.

Ex-Jensten duo to launch SME MGA with Mission
